How do you explain what yesterday felt like? There were the images: a radiant couple, two beautiful daughters, tears, millions of people… but those are just images. It was the feeling of disbelief, of pride, of hope and joy and all the while being on the cusp of tears. Thank you America for living up to your ideals.
How do you express the satisfaction you feel upon seeing the first African American being sworn in to the highest office in the land? That sound you hear is a paradigm shifting. We have overcome.
There was a woman being interviewed on the news, through tears she said “Now my kids can do anything. No longer do they have to grow up to be a rapper or an athlete. They can do anything“. What a day for African Americans… what a day for Americans. The arc of the universe indeed bends toward Justice.
On television, the star of the day was indeed the long shot, which showed the largest crowd that has ever assembled on the national mall. But for me, the star of the day was the pride I felt in my country. We had a clear choice on November 4th –on one side was Hope and on the other was Fear. We chose hope. I don’t want that feeling to end.
Then there was the symbolism writ large: A hobbled vice president, a disliked president waving to no one while boarding a helicopter. And five minutes later that man was gone, gradually getting smaller and smaller in high definition until not a pixel remained. Goodbye George Bush, you’ve left us with a mess, but adults are in charge now. Living in Texas is punishment enough –maybe not.
Once the village in Texas regained its idiot, change began: first, a new web site –and for geeks like me a new commitment to transparency with a a new robots.txt file. Robots.txt prevents search engines from indexing sites and the old whitehouse.gov site’s was 2400 lines long. That’s a lot of data down the memory hole. The new file is two lines long, disallowing only the includes directory.
Here’s to a searchable presidency.
Here’s to transparency. Here’s to the new ethics standards. Here’s to openness. Here’s to the rule of Law. Here’s to keeping promises. Here’s to Justice. Here’s to America.
What a difference a day makes.

Very well written and from the heart. Even someone like me who have been disappointed more often than not….now feels a real hope. Yes, this is truly different. God speed Obama…there is a lot to do.

You may sound intelligent to the other ignorant people who voted for Obama but to me and the millions of citizens here in the Republic of Texas (A prosperus state), you sound like a homosexual or that dumb ass Barny Frank. Just how big of a homo are you. have ever had a good ass whoping from a Texan?? If not, you might want to stay your silly ass in homo land. I would be willing to bet you live in California???? Stay there dip shit

Hey, a friend of mine just told me about your web site and said I should take a look at what a real coolaid drinker thinks about the man who kept this country safe for 8 years. Well I’ve been reading your comments and I’m basically without words but i am going to try to string a few together that i’m sure you will understand.
1. Your reference regarding the stae of Texas is absolutley appauling. It is apparent that you do not know one thing about this great state and the people that have the honor of living here. If you had any since whatsoever you would know that this state is the only state that can stand alone and prosper when all other states are in an economic downfall. There is a reason behind that mr. ignoramous and part of that reason is George Bush (the man that kept you from what you are about to recieve with your newly appointed President). Can you at least tell me where you are from?? I would be willing to bet just about anything that you are from somewhere in California. Oh, by the way, hows that economy working for you guys out there? We are as strong as ever here in Texas, thank you very much. Are you a married man and if so, what is his name?? Not sure where you get your info from or who brain washed you but my guess is it was CNN or ABC. I know it wasn’t my dear friends on FOX NEWS. Are you one of those who got a tingle up your leg when you heard Obama speak?? I probably know the answer to that since you are apparently from California. Don’t feel bad, he gave me a tingle too but it was in the back of pant’s. I’me sure even you guys that praise him will be getting that same tingle in the very near future, jsut as soon as you realize that your not going to get that big stimulus check in the mail. Oh well, you asked for so now enjoy what you get or don’t get. Fortunatley for us Texans, we can afford to give a little bit more and still enjoy the lifes luxuries.
2. I’ve seen a lot of things written in my life and your comments have to be the most narrow minded, uninformed, stupid, ignorant bunch of shit that I have ever seen. Be that as it may, it is your constitutional right to do so. Oh, by the way, you might want to write as much as you can since your President is also wanting to sensor that part of your rights.

I know you are not that eat up with the dumb ass son. Nobody can be that far out in left field. Have you ever been to Shawn Hannity counceling?? Do you research what you read or just understand what you read per the media’s perspective? Are you communist or just a strong left wing socialist? Whatever you are, stay out of Texas princess, we are busy enjoying our thriving economy. What part of California do yo live in? From your posting my first guess would be San Fransico, am i right??? Does your husband have your beliefs? have you seen ANY positive change since the new
administration took over? It sounds like you have been living in a fairy tale world, or is it a ferry tail world you live in??? Probably both is my guess. Be productive and go get a job and stop showing everyone how uniformed you are.

I have noticed that your postings are very well articulated. Given this I am going to assume that you are eithr an artist or a true blue homosexual. That is Ok with me since occasionally us Texans lose our flock of sheep and can use a change in our variety. Because you apparently are not the sharpest tac in the cushion, i am going to assume you would be game for such an event??? For what it’s worth to you and your readers, Texas is the only State that can stand alone and we really don’t need help from our Goverment, unlike the continued weakening California economy. I havwe a recommendation that you can send to the new administration, cut the republic of Texas free so we don’t get drug into what will soon take place. Last thing I will say to you and your city of princess’s is BAAAA BAAA BAAAA

I see your boy friend Paul who has the first comment on this page states he will no longer be embarassed when he is traveling to Europe?? I have a suggestion for both of you, move to Europe, PLEASE. I’m sure the both of you can live as one and happily ever after. I find it hard to believe that such ignorance can still exist in the greatest country on earth. By the way, how are all the other ignoramouses doing in the big city of San Fransico? Are you one of those free spirit guys who believes in Gay marriage?? Be honest now, I’ll know if you’re not telling the truth.
Most of your blog postings are ridiculous. I would venture to bet you are of the younger generation and have no clue what honor or pride is about. It is apparent that you are not a military man and if you are or were, you had to have come from the era of don’t ask don’t tell. Don’t even say it homo, i got your number already. Anyone that will run down this great country and the great state of Texas can in everyway imaginable, kiss my ass and move to Europe, and take the new administration with them, ALL OF THEM. Do this country a great service goofball, get the hell out and while you’re at it, take San Fransico with you.

What a great series of posts!
I salute you, random foul-mouthed anonymous bigot from Texas! Your characterization of me is so spot-on it hurts. But that’s what I deserve for not going to my Sean Hannity counseling.
You might want to read the comments a little better next time, it was Mirko who wrote that he won’t be embarrassed in europe, not Paul (my boyfriend). Mirko said this because he’s *european*.
Also, thanks so much for outing Paul as my boyfriend. Now our wives are going to divorce us for having the gay. Now Paul’s child will be without a father. I hope you’re happy that little paulina will now grow up and probably become a hooker or a lesbian. We have you to blame for this. Enjoy paying for her welfare and abortions (well, no abortions if she’s a lesbian).
The only reason I’m jobless is because I’m lazy and want the government to take care of me (due to my socialism). Is this too much to ask? I think not, I deserve it because I’m a homosexual. And I’m an uneducated one at that, which is why I write so ‘well articulated’.
You said that Obama wanted to “sensor” my rights, this is intriguing. Where is he going to place this sensor? Will this sensor be wifi enabled so Obama can monitor my rights remotely, or will I have to upload my rights data periodically? Can you provide a link so I could sign up for this sensor project? It seems that they’ll need several technical people to make this project a reality, and I’d love to provide my input –being jobless and all.
Seriously, where did you get these insults? The ’60s? Time to update.
Also, you might want to get that Homophobia looked at, it’s pretty scary.
April 10th, 2009 at 10:52 am
OMG, my husband is gay? No wonder he “hung out” with Paul so much… that’s it we’re getting a divorce. That jobless bum can have his gayness and his blog sensorship.
April 10th, 2009 at 11:01 am
Oh no, nicole!
See what you did Douchie?!? (I hope you allow me to call your Douchie, I know it’s informal, but hey, I’m ‘from’ California!) Now I’m getting a divorce! I hope you’re happy.
Now that Nicole won’t pay for my pot addiction, I’ll probably have to go on welfare.
