I haven’t blogged about politics in quite some time, but this is too sweet. Apparently America is starting to wake from its slumber of ignorance and realize what a truly incompetent leader they have chosen. What gets me is that 34% of people still have a positive impression of Bush. One of the guys I work with (Michael) says that his approval rating will never go below 10% because 10% of people are so ignorant that they’ll never change their opinion. Kinda sounds like someone in a high office, no?

Here’s hoping…still I have little faith in the people. One of two events could change everything. Idiots become heros.

I’m on a mailing list with a bunch of guys (mostly) that I went to college with. Most of us would have voted for Regan or GHWB back in the day, but recent conversations have all centered around how much we fear GW and the fundies who put him in power. Some of the guys have become more economically liberal, but most (including me) have similar fiscal views as we did at age 18. However, many of us are likely to vote for a Democrat in ‘08. This Republican administration is spending like mad, and they’re taking away my civil liberties in the process. It’s like taking a fistful of Jesus while getting your pocket picked.

Why, oh why didn’t you figure that out a year ago?

I didn’t vote for GW, and I don’t think a good portion of the mailing list I’m on did. Actually, I didn’t get to vote at all (couldn’t get an absentee ballot at the last minute), but I would have voted Libertarian if I had.
