I just got an email from the people at Flickr. As a ‘gift’ to their early subscribers, they’re giving away the following:

• A free additional year of Flickr use. My expiration date is now in 2007
• They’re doubling monthly quotas to 2.0 Gb
• They’re also giving their users two free pro accounts to give out to their friends

It’s really cool that they’re doing all this for their users, and I’m really excited about the doubling of the monthly quota (not that I’ve been approaching the 1Gb limit). The free year is really nice, but the two pro accounts are brilliant marketing. They know that they have one hell of a service, and that basically anyone that uses it falls in love, so this will help them spread the word far and wide.

I already used jUploadr to verify that my monthly upload limit has been doubled but I can’t tell if this is just for all pro users of just those who supported Flickr when it was in beta. (Update:It’s for all pro users)

Way to go guys.
